What is Thérapie’s cancellation policy?

Your appointments are very important to us here at Thérapie Day Spa, this time has been reserved especially for you. We understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request 24-hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling all appointments. We will be asking for a credit card to have on file when reserving an appointment. Clients who no-show or provide less than 24 hour notice will be charged the full price of scheduled services. As a courtesy, we will email you to confirm your service appointments prior to your appointment date. Please understand that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times to avoid late arrivals, missed appointments, and the potential of a cancellation fee. By scheduling, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.

What happens if I am late for my treatment or unable to keep my appointment?

If you are running late for your treatment time, please call us to let us know. Your therapist will complete as much of the session as the schedule allows for. Failure to arrive for a scheduled treatment will result in a 100% charge of scheduled treatments.

What happens if I have a special health condition?

Thérapie believes in massage and esthetics as a valuable part of your health care regimen. Please note that some conditions/injuries have contraindications, and therefore require a doctor’s release in order for us to complete treatment. If you have a health condition and are currently being treated by a doctor OR have been treated in the past 6 months, please notify the spa prior to your service and plan to provide a doctor’s release upon arrival at the spa. Prior to your session, please notify your therapist if you have any pain, chronic or acute. We thank you for your help in creating a safe environment for your healing.

I just found out that I am pregnant. Should I tell my therapist?

Yes please! We are honored to support you throughout your pregnancy. It is important to let us know when booking your appointment that you are expecting (even if nobody else knows yet!) so that we may be fully prepared to serve you best. While we believe that first trimester bodywork is not only safe but an essential part of a healthy pregnancy, there are certain contraindications that are important to honor. Our skilled prenatal therapists have extensive training in prenatal bodywork and are fully equipped to support you throughout your prenatal journey. With that in mind not all of therapist are trained in prenatal massage/not all of our therapists work on all 3 trimesters of pregnancy. Knowing you are expecting before you show up for an appointment better prepares us to make sure you are booked correctly.

Where can I purchase a gift certificate?

Gift certificates are available during regular business hours. For your convenience, we offer online gift certificate sales, accessible here. Gift certificates may be purchased in any amount! We DO NOT take Spa Finder or Spa Wish Gift Cards. We do accept Spa Week.

Where should I park?

We do not have dedicated customer parking, street parking is available as well as a public parking lot on Bacon Street between Voltaire Street and West Point Loma Blvd. We find it’s best to allocate a few extra minutes to find a parking spot so that you are calm and ready to relax when you arrive at the spa! Please note that Voltaire Street in Ocean Beach has street sweeping on one side of the street from 8am-10am on Wednesday and Friday each week.

Massage FAQ

Which massage should I book?

At Thérapie, we take great care in providing individualized treatments tailored to your unique needs. You will have time to connect with your therapist prior to the start of your session in order to give them a sense of what you are looking to achieve in your session, as well as talk about what your preference in pressure is.   If you are unsure as to which service to book, we recommend booking our Signature Massage, which incorporates both relaxing work as well as deeper, more focused pressure in areas of concern. You can find more information about our specific massage styles and treatment options here.
